John Burkowski Jr., the son of a high school Social Studies teacher, currently teaches AP U.S. History, AP U.S .Government, and AP Macroeconomics at the Academy for Advanced Academics South, a dual enrollment high school at Florida International University (FIU) in Miami-Dade County. He also serves as Department Chairperson. He earned his BA and MA in History at FIU. He is a lifetime member of FCSS and the Vice President for the Miami-Dade Council (MDCSS). He is an AP U.S. History Reader and a district AP consultant. He enjoys films, history books, and spending time with his wife and two sons.
