I began teaching in Tallahassee, Florida in 2009, and since then it has been all civics, all the time. Previously, I had the privilege of working for the Juvenile Justice Education Enhancement Program (JJEEP) as a quality assurance reviewer and technical service advisor. Prior to moving to Tallahassee, I taught AP US Government and AP US History in Pennsylvania. After graduate school, I supervised pre-service student teachers at Penn State University. After college, where I majored in Anthropology, I worked as a tutor and research assistant for the Upward Bound program in Yonkers, NY and the Bronx.
My experiences working with teachers and students have strengthened my commitment to innovative education and the power and importance of civic engagement. Every year, I am continually impressed with how students can positively affect their community, state, and country.
